About
Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine LLP
Our pediatric group practice is composed of seven pediatricians
and three pediatric nurse practitioners. In addition to
our office practice, we are actively involved in the teaching
program at New York University School of Medicine.
In
the office, we work closely together and share the care
of all our patients, but encourage families to get to
know one or two of the providers best as their primary
contacts in the office. We care for patients from birth
through the college years.
We began on the Upper West Side in 1979, when strollers
were a rare sight on Broadway. As the community has
evolved into one of New York's prime family neighborhoods,
we have grown from two doctors to our present size.
Despite many changes, we have strived to remain as we
started: a community-based practice with strong academic
connections, able to take a personal interest in our
patients and their families. As families matured, with
some moving to the suburbs, we opened an office in Westchester
in 1994. In general, the physicians work in both offices;
the nurse practitioners are based in one office or the
other.

We are affiliated with several Manhattan hospitals:
New York University (Tisch Hospital), Mt. Sinai and
Lenox Hill.
Pediatric
practice works best when professionals and parents
understand one another's aims, concerns and approaches.
Our goal is for parents to understand
not only our recommendations but also the reasons
behind them. As our patients become old enough to
participate in their own care, our relationship involves
them more directly, and we try to assure that they
too will learn something from each encounter in our
office.
For our patients of all ages, our concern is for both
the physical and the psychological aspects of life:
Care and prevention of illnesses, nutrition, behavioral
issues, school adjustment, growth and developmental
progress are all always the focus of our attention.
