Annual Administrative fee

We at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine are committed to providing the best possible care to our patients and families. We have been practicing in the area for over 40 years and we love watching our families grow and thrive. We cherish our relationship with our families and hope you find expertise and consistent quality in the services we provide.

We are the starting place for any of your health concerns, focusing on prevention, treatment of the whole person, and coordination of care with specialists if needed. However, the many changes in the healthcare landscape have created a challenging environment, where the physicians and their staff are required to spend increasing time on tasks that are not paid for by insurance. As administrative costs rise, private medical groups struggle to remain viable.

To focus on patient care and remain independent, effective September 1, 2022, we will charge an annual Administrative Fee to cover these non-reimbursable administrative tasks and services. This allows us to continue to provide the most up to date services while remaining in a small, personal, and accessible office.

The Administrative Fee allows us to optimize the wellness of your family by continuing to provide the following services:

• Urgent care appointments available same day, striving to see each patient who calls in for a sick visit as soon as possible
• 24/7 urgent care advice from overnight triage service
• On-site lab with dedicated pediatric phlebotomy
• Virtual on demand assistance via text
• Seamless care at two convenient locations
• Compassionate providers who care
• Patient Portal access, messaging, and emails
• Unlimited health Forms (e.g.: for daycare, school, camp)
• Evening and weekend hours
• Accessibility 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays

This Administrative Fee is above and beyond your customary insurance payment for services rendered. These services we provide are also above and beyond services customarily provided by private medical practices. Therefore, your insurance will not pay these fees. However, if you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), it may be covered. We recommend that you contact your internal benefits manager or administrator to confirm.

The Administrative Fee is $250 for the first child annually, plus an additional $50 per child annually to a family max of $400 per year.

This fee covers your child/children for one year. This fee must be paid in full on an annual basis. There are no pro-rated fees.

This has not been an easy decision. Please know it has become necessary to implement this new policy due to the continuing deterioration of the economics of managing an office-based private primary care medical practice. Alternatively, we would need to scale back providing these additional value-added services.
